Chicago heavy metal band Disturbed arrives in Israel for sold-out show

Heavy metal band Disturbed arrived in Israel for their sold-out concert at Tel Aviv’s Expo, having last performed in 2019 in Rishon Lezion.

The Chicago-based band includes Hebrew-speaking vocalist David Draiman — who once trained to be a cantor and contemplated becoming a rabbi — along with guitarist/keyboardist Dan Donegan, bassist John Moyer and drummer Mike Wengren.

The band has produced eight studio albums, including their latest, “Divisive,” released last November.

Disturbed made headlines with the video for “Bad Man,” a single from Divisive, which was crafted with AI-generated imagery featuring a dystopian world and Disturbed’s familiarly intensive guitars and drums.

Fans of folk music’s Simon and Garfunkel may be more familiar with Disturbed’s 2015 cover of “Sound of Silence,” which expanded the band’s reach outside heavy metal circles and was highly regarded.

The band is set to play on Wednesday evening.
